Coach ‘Wild Kyle’ Hastings has been with the MAC family for three years now working with both our senior group and 13-14 age group. He has recently gotten the promotion from assistant coach to Associate Head Coach.

Since being with the team he has watched it’s national rankings sky rocket from 250th to 46h in the nation. His performance over the last year has many highlights, including coaching Julian Ballestas to a ranking of 12th place All-Time US Swimming History in the 50scy freestyle. He also coached the South African silver medalist in the 50m freestyle at 26.2 - Trudi Maree. MAC sent two swimmers to the World Championship Trials, three swimmers to Senior Nationals and seven swimmers to summer Junior Nationals and has put 8 zone champions on the blocks. We have nine top 16 swimmers - six in multiple events, an impressive twenty-six LSC records have fallen since 2007. He helped to start and run the MAC summer camp of 2008 - 2010, and his 13-14 boys age group were ranked top 3 in the nation for the 2008-2009 season.

During 2007, he spent a year with the Hoosiers of Indiana University helping them produce one NCAA national champion, one world record holder, one Australian national champion, women’s top 10 finisher at NCAA, and a Big 10 women’s victory. Sergiy Fesenko has since swum in the Beijing 2008 summer Olympics where he finished 16th in the 400 freestyle. There he honed his skills working with everyone: the sprinters, middle distance, distance and IM.

Kyle earned his master’s degree at the University of Maryland. While obtaining his master’s, he found the time to coach the university’s club program and start the annual club home meet. He also led them to the regional championship.

Before that, Kyle spent his time in his home state, Delaware. He coached at Sussex Community, Ocean Pines, Milford High School, and his alma mater- Sussex Central High School. He earned honors for each of these clubs with one form of success or another. He helped each club post multiple top individual event winners, age group champions, senior champions, and a few top 3 club finishes.
