The Metro Aquatic Club of Miami’s age group program is back For the past 2 years we have been rebuilding our program. Taking it from two ‘A’ qualifiers to having over 30 ‘A’ qualifiers and now we are privileged to have two athletes ranked top 25 in the nation in their best events.

For the first time in recent history MAC competed in a championship meet without the dominance from its senior team. Due to the hectic high school schedule the senior team took the weekend off to train for their upcoming meet in Gainesville. This made the age groupers - ages 14 and under - to keep up MAC’s prestigious name. Our team goal was to finish within the top 20 in our LSC. We finished 5th

The highlights start with Stephania Hernandez 1st place victory in the 10 and under 100 freestyle. She swam a time of 1.01.48 which puts her 24th in the nation this year for all 10 and under girls. Also Toby Faucher breaks into the top of our LSC with a gold metal in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2.15.68. This amazing swim puts him 15th in the nation this year for 12 and under boys. He also scored the second highest point total in the 12 and under age-group. Congratulations Steph and Toby

Our 12 and under boys team scored more points than any other team in the LSC for 12 and unders. Toby Faucher, Ryan Guso, Robert Ballestas, Zu Pigot were on 4 relays that won a 1st place setting team records in each swim. These were not just any records - but records that were the oldest in MAC history - 23 years old.

Many other people had great swims. Janet Araque, Jose Arteaga, Tommy Avallon, Robert Ballestas, Alejandro Carriazo, Ashley Castano, Robert Castano, Diego Faucher, Amanda Gomez, Ryan Guso, Alejandro ‘Cuba’ Maestre, Karl Marvil, Adrian Moya, Andrea Moya, Rachael Peraza, Alex Perez, Zu Pigot, Carla Robles, Jesus Nava Suarez, Mike Wermuth, all did best times.
